The anatomy, structure by structure

The atlas is an instrument: a real reference skull you spin, explode and select. This is the same anatomy written out, one page per structure, so it can be read, linked, quoted and cited. 64 entries. Each one says what the structure is, how the Codex reads it, what the safety anatomy around it is, and which study the numbers came from.

Bone 15

The skeleton the male face is read and built on.

Ethmoid The medial orbital wall (lamina papyracea) and the roof of the nasal cavity, seen through the orbits. Frontal bone The forehead and the roof of both orbits. Hyoid bone The free bone of the neck suspended below the mandible. Inferior nasal concha The lowest turbinate on the lateral nasal wall, visible through the pyriform aperture. Lacrimal bone A thin plate in the anterior medial orbital wall holding the lacrimal sac; the medial canthal tendon anchors nearby. Mandible The lower jaw: a horseshoe body carrying the teeth, two vertical rami ending in the condyles, and the angle between them at the gonion. Maxilla The paired upper-jaw bone: the floor of the orbit, the lateral wall of the nasal (pyriform) aperture, the anterior nasal spine, the alveolar process carrying the upper teeth, and the infraorbital foramen on its anterior face below the orbital rim. Nasal bones Two small plates forming the upper third of the nasal dorsum, meeting the frontal bone at the nasion and ending inferiorly at the rhinion, where the cartilaginous dorsum takes over. Occipital bone The back and base of the skull. Palatine bone The back of the hard palate and part of the nasal cavity wall, seen through the pyriform aperture. Parietal bone The paired bones of the cranial vault above the temporal line. Sphenoid bone The keystone of the cranial base, seen in the atlas through the orbits as the greater wing forming the lateral orbital wall and the deep floor of the temporal fossa. Temporal bone The side of the skull: the squamous part under the temporalis, the zygomatic process completing the arch, the external acoustic meatus and the mastoid behind it. Vomer The bony posterior part of the nasal septum, seen through the pyriform aperture. Zygomatic bone The cheekbone: the malar eminence, the lateral orbital rim and floor, and the temporal process that runs back as the zygomatic arch to meet the temporal bone.

The architecture is public, the coordinates are not. These pages carry what the atlas carries and nothing more. Every one of them withholds entry points, landmark constructions, volumes and read-to-point routing. What is shown and what is withheld.
